A project led by Tipperary, Ireland-born artist Kevin Gleeson, Sour Blood first featured on this blog in May this year through the video for the title track of his upcoming debut album Suas.
The Devil is the third single taken from the album and explores the concept of temptation and sin. It’s a dreamy number, opening with some delicate electronica before ghostly vocals come in. An eerily romantic tale comes in, rich with poetic imagery, before things explode into atmospheric life. It’s certainly one for fans of Animal Collective.
The album Suas, written and recorded with Brendan Jenkinson, is set for release 2 August. It’s available to pre-order as a digital release and on 12″ vinyl via Bandcamp.
The video for The Devil is by Hoss LaFleur and was shot in Seoul, Korea and Copenhagen, Denmark by Sour Blood. You can check it out below.
