The bystander effect is the psychological effect that happens to all of us when we fail to help someone in need because we believe someone else will. With her new track, Nightmare, Natalie Claro delves deep into this condition, giving us an emotional number rich with fuzzy bass, guitar riffs and compelling vocals. The poetic lyrics urge us to overthrow our natural programming, and step in to help.

With the track, Natalie is walking the walk by donating its royalties to Habitat for Humanity and Gaza Kinder Relief.

Of Puerto Rican, Indian and Italian heritage, Natalie knows what it’s like to have the personal be political. She explores this with her music, as well as speaking of introspective topics like mental health. An artist with an ear for alternative pop and something to say, she’s a force to be reckoned with.

Nightmare is out now and you can give it a listen below.
