Jeff Christie is a legend, renowned for his global hit Yellow River, yet it’s only now that the local artist is making our radar.

Based in Leeds, Jeff has had a career spanning five decades and has written over 300 songs, so I’m feeling very late to the party with his music. Better late than never, I suppose, and what better introduction than his new track, Ordinary People?

The second single from his latest album, Here & Now, Ordinary People is a commentary on the complexity of modern life that’s told through a soft yet vibrant folk rock composition. An instrumental intro gets us going but it’s Jeff’s vocal that’s the stand out feature. Smooth and timeless, they encapsulate a sense of nostalgia and modernism all at once.
