London-based singer songwriter Ella Jinks has featured on this blog once before through her team up with fellow BRIT school graduate Katie Melua, This Fall. Now she’s back with a new one, The In-Between.

A soft and soulful number, The In-Between‘s lyrics are full of melancholy and longing. As with This Fall, Ella’s vocal is the star of the show; captivating and original, there’s a timelessness about her voice. As the track builds to its chorus, some of the melancholy is shaken off and things before cathartic at its climax.

The single is the title track from her upcoming second EP, set for release 7 March 2025. The EP takes on uncomfortable themes such as self discovery and facing our darker selves, with this track exploring self-sabotage and staying trapped in negative cycles.
