Discovery: Tim Ainslie & The Vibes transport with unconventional new track

Opening with some atmospheric ambience and a driving acoustic guitar riff, you can tell you’re in for something a little different with Tim Ainslie & The Vibes‘ new track Oyster Reach.

By Graeme Smith

An Ian Drury-esque spoken word verse follows, cementing the fact that the track plays things unconventional. What really stands out about it, though, is its picture-painting lyrics. Close your eyes and it will transport you to its titular location.

Hailing from Ipswich, Tim was inspired to write Oyster Reach during a visit to the Ostrich Inn in Suffolk where he contemplated all the changes the pub, which was built in 1612, had seen.

Oyster Reach is out now and you can give it a listen below.
