Luan Luan is a Brighton-based artist who has just come to my attention through their team up with Tiiva, A SONG YOU WON’T FORGET.
By Graeme Smith
Written and produced by Tiiva, their vocals are joined by Luan Luan’s to give us a varied and emotional electronic soundscape. Opening stripped-back, we are immediately drawn in by the track’s storytelling lyrics and subtle instrumental textures. As it progresses the composition gets pacy while a story of holding onto cherished memories unfolds.
Born in Spain, Luan Luan now called Brighton home. Their music usually has a distinctly different sound to it, but when they were invited by Tiiva to collaborate on their track, they accepted. The two have worked together before, collaborating on a remix of Yellow in 2021.
A composer, producer and sound designer, Tiiva is proving to be a champion of queer pop in their London home.
Luan Luan has a big year ahead of them, so there will be plenty more for us to get our ears around. It feels a good time to be discovering them. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more of their releases, as well as Tiiva’s.
A SONG YOU WON’T FORGET is out now and you can give it a listen below.
