Arriving on our blog from Barcelona, Spain, Evelí Ray is an indie pop artist that demands attention.
By Graeme Smith
Particles is a wonderfully cosmic track which combines crystalline percussion, plodding bass, ethereal electronica and stunning vocals. It’s slow burning and easy to get lost in, especially when Evelí’s poetic story of unity and interconnectedness gets going, drawing inspiration from the Sufi mystic Rumi’s Poem of the Atoms. Her sound is influenced by the likes of Bjork, Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush, yet is very much her own.
The track is taken from Evelí’s debut album, Butterflies. I, for one, can’t wait to hear it. The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
