Based down the road in Leeds, Autonym are a rock band who are becoming regulars on this blog. Their latest release sees them team up with Liam Storey to re-imagine their track Surrender Me.
By Graeme Smith
Originally released in 2020, the re-imagining injects Surrender Me with some hard hitting guitar, punchy percussion and soaring soulfulness. Liam’s addition to the vocals gives us a layered arrangement that turns the track in a stirring singalong while the lyrics explore the difficulty of a one-sided relationship.
Autonym first hit our radar in the Summer of 2024 through their hedonistic track Where We All Going which impressed me with its “monster riff” and “charismatic vocals.” Since then, we’ve also shared their bluesy single Keep Me Running.
Surrender Me (Re-Imagined) is out now and you can give it a listen below.
