Circles in the Car Park has a sound that feels accessibly familiar while also adding in some fresh experimentation. A taut intro sets up soulful vocals that feel richly introspective. When the beat drops, it’s worth the wait, pulsating and unexpected. Its groove doesn’t quit while things remain thought-provoking throughout. It’s truly an exciting track.
As JEZTLS explains:
“Spinning circles in the car park at midnight is the image I had in my head when I would reflect on being stuck in a relationship I knew at the time was going to end and more generally the idea that in order to move on from something you have to essentially force yourself out of the door and the endless circle to be the catalyst for any kind of change in life. I love lyrics that convey a sense of overarching emotion without being overly descriptive, I did the same thing on Affair and Tear Me Down; this is just my style of writing.”
Circles in the Car Park is out now via JEZTLS’s Virile Recordings. You can give it a listen below.
