As the United States of America grows increasingly hostile to all matters South of The Border, Brent Amaker and the Rodeo have embraced Mexico for their latest single and album.
By Graeme Smith
We’ve heard a few of his recent tracks now, featuring Mariachi and made almost entirely in Mexico. The style certainly suits Amaker, who makes country music like no other. Broken Promises is a lament, delivered with understated emotion by his vocals which contrast nicely with the brassy bombast of the instrumental.
Seattle-based troubadour Brent Amaker’s music is never far from our pages. Our relationship goes right back to 2020. Recently we’ve been sharing all his Mexico City-recorded singles in anticipation of his new album, Vaquero, set for release 12 September 2025 via Rodeo Corp Ltd.
Broken Promises is out now, and you can listen to it below.
