New Music: Pizza Crunch – Romanticised Past

Pizza Crunch have already featured on our blog a couple of times this summer. Based in Glasgow, the indie band is equally influenced by ’80s post-punk and ’00s alternative rock. They’ve just released their latest single, a track that questions the value of nostalgia. It’s called Romanticised Past.

By Graeme Smith

Romanticised Past opens in a suitably dreamy way before it hits a canter through jangly guitar and expressive vocals. There’s just something wonderfully indie rock about it, with contemplative lyrics and wistful energy.

The track will feature on the band’s forthcoming debut EP That Serene Age, which will also include previous singles Young Excitement and Wilting Youth. While we wait for the EP, you can check out Romanticised Past below.
