The Verona-based alternative dream pop band Antibes first featured on these pages at the end of last year through their debut single, and now they’re back with new one.
By Graeme Smith
Sirens was born in the city from which Antibes take their name, located in the French Riviera. Inspired by the seascape there, songwriter Andre Ballini gazed out towards Nice and started to pen the track. It was then brought to life through the alternative dream pop stylings of Andre and his bandmates Edo Carli, Luca Tommasi and Michele Gelmini to create a stripped-back and dreamy verse that surges to a romantic climax in the chorus.
The track was self-produced and recorded by Andre. Sirens is out now, and you can check out its video, shot on a late ’90s analogue camera, below.
