Album Review: Holy Coves – Druids and Bards
Holy Coves are an indie rock band based on Holy Island, Wales. They’ve already received a ton of support from BBC Radio Wales, and BBC Radio London and can count Huw Stephens and Adam Walton among their fans. Despite all that, they are new to us, and have just hit my radar thanks to their new album Druids And Bards.

Videotapes. is a London-based alternative rock act who take their cues from the likes of At The Drive-in, Mogwai and Fugazi. Relatively new to the scene, they released their first single howl (for jane doe) in May. But it’s through their two track EP forest/fire that they’ve caught my attention.

Resting B!tch Face is a new punk band primarily made up of female and non-binary students from the Acadamy of Contemporary Music in Birmingham. Their debut single takes a swipe at the current government’s handling of the cost of living crisis and its rule-breaking during COVID lockdown. It’s called BYOB.

The New Nostalgia are a London-based alternative rock band which came to be when members and old university friends Patrick, James, Sam and Charles went on a trip to Amsterdam. Since their formation, they’ve proved popular on stage in both the Netherlands and here in the UK. September 2022 marks the release of their debut album. It’s called BLEED & BLOOM.
