I first shared London-based electronic pop artist Maya Yenn’s track How Much Sadness Can You Swallow? when it was first released back in August of last year. I really enjoyed the track so I was excited to see it now comes complete with a video.

The video is both written and directed by Maya, and pays tribute to science fiction cinema. Maya stars in the video. Dressed in fencing regalia, she wakes in the middle of nowhere. Aimlessly she wanders until she sees a strange object fall from the sky. Suddenly full of purpose, the video’s otherworldly story starts there.

The video beautifully reinforces the track’s themes, which speaks of loss and self-blame. I’m so happy to have an excuse to share it again. You can check out the video for How Much Sadness Can You Swallow? below.
